Elementary Music Education

Music and movements has a great importance for the development and education of a child. When working with children eurhythmics can have an impact on their personality, self-efficacy, autonomy and social behavior. Through teaching music and movement children can be encouraged to have a closer look, feel and listen.
They can discover, understand and question the world around them by using all their senses. Hereby children need time and space to get to know themselves and their surrounding. Children are provided with action-oriented experiences in which they develop a healthy basic attitude towards learning, remain eager to experiment and practice their creativity.
They are taught self-efficacy and -responsibility with which they can question, protect, and co-create the world. The idea ist to „feed“ them with competencies that give them a firm ground to face the world.

Currently Merle teaches early music education and elementary movement education at the music school Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg in Berlin.
